Epicurious names “The New Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day” as one of the greatest cookbooks of all time

NewArtisan is 1 of greatest

We are insanely flattered. Epicurious.com, which is the food website of Conde Nast, publisher of Bon Appetit and the late, lamented Gourmet, has named The New Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day as one of the 53 greatest cookbooks of all time. That’s our book in their picture, right in the middle of some very exhalted company. Bakers like Dorie Greenspan, Julia Child, Peter Reinhart. We’re hyperventilating. Thanks for the shout-out, Epicurious:

“We were surpised that more baking books weren’t nominated… all the baking frontrunners are bread books. The panel’s  favorites were Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day, by Jeff Hertzberg and Zoe Francois, and The Bread Baker’s Apprentice, by Peter Reinhart.”

  1. Congratulations! You should be proud of yourselves. I think the book is awesome & I given it as a gift to several people, myself.

  2. Congratulations! I have to say this is a cookbook that has changed the way I bake bread and one that gets used so frequently that it lives on my kitchen counter rather than put away on the shelf with other cookbooks.

And I say this as I have just pulled out 2 loaves of Raisin Cinnamon bread. As soon as they were cooling on the rack, I thought it was a good time to check the website and here is your happy announcement!

  3. Hi. It’s a long time I have wanted to buy your books, Artisan bread in 5 minutes, Healty breads and pizza and flat breads but first I would like to know if they have only cups or even grams.. Thank you for an answer

    1. Hi Gaia,

The New Artisan, Pizza and Flatbread, Gluten Free Artisan Bread all have weights and cup measures. Healthy bread is just in cups, but we’re working on that!

      Thanks, Zoë

  4. I love your books and have a wonderful time tantalizing friends with artisan beads. I am venturing into the realm of sprouted organic flours, do you have any recipes or suggestions that could be applied to your traditional breads? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much, and keep up the good work!
